Trusting in God’s provision in every aspect of my life
That is a quote from the first page of this issue of “Sharing.” Not only is it applied throughout the testimonies included, but all of us could recount multitudes of ways we have seen the Lord build faith and trust into our own lives.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ. (Romans 10:17, ESV) “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.”(Hebrews 11:6, ESV)
We are daily being transformed through the Word of God. The process is never easy, but the resulting fruit in our lives is so worth it. John 3:30 quotes John the Baptist as saying “He must increase, but I must decrease.” We should each desire that others see Jesus in us, not just admire us. Oswald Chambers in “My Utmost for His Highest” reiterates this in his own words. “Goodness and purity ought never to attract attention to themselves, they ought simply to be magnets to draw to Jesus Christ. … A beautiful saint may be a hindrance if he does not present Jesus Christ but only what Christ has done for him. He will leave the impression—‘What a fine character that man is!’ That is not being a true friend of the Bridegroom; I am increasing all the time, He is not.” *
Therein is the powerful truth of living the crucified life. “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20). May others see the Lord Jesus Christ in us and become more and more hungry for His Life to operate freely in them. Thank you, Lord, for the privilege of learning to walk by faith, and watching You increase and all of us decrease. May this process continue until You alone are receiving all the glory for Who You are in us!
